This session focuses on using musical intros as a tool for musicality, flow, and finding the right energy. You’ll explore both solo and partnered approaches to connect or invite your partner to dance. (max. 6 couples)
When and where?
31 May 2026, 14:00 – 16:30
't Celestijntje, Celestijnenlaan 19, 3001 Leuven, Belgium
What will you learn?
The music starts… and then what?
Instead of defaulting to linear basics, this session explores how you can respond to the music from the very first sound — whether you’re looking for clarity, confidence, or fresh inspiration and ideas.
We dive into different ways of using musical intros: to invite your partner to dance, or to find flow and groove on your own before and when the partnership begins.
You’ll gain inspiration and practical tools to use intros consciously, as a way to connect with both the music and your partner. We’ll work with both solo jazz and partnered shapes and techniques. This helps you to bring the right energy, mood, or flow you want onto the social dance floor.
