Terms and Conditions

By booking and joining a Lindy Focus session — you understand and agree to be bound to these Terms and Conditions at all times.


Organiser​

The legal organiser of Lindy Hop Focus sessions Blues (hereinafter referred to as 'sessions') is Charlotte Vitse, owner of the sole proprietorship 'Vitsee'.


Liability​​​
  1. All Participants of the sessions take part in it voluntarily and on their own responsibility.

  2. Participants declare that their state of health allows them to take part in the sessions and there are no medical contraindications.

  3. The Organiser, its employees or contractors shall not be liable for any damages or loss that may occur before, during or after the sessions for which they are not at fault. They, especially, are not liable for any losses and thefts that may happen during the sessions.

  4. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the sessions due to the reasons that are beyond the Organiser’s control (for example the national mourning, a lock down, a medical condition). The Organiser will not have any liability resulting from such a cancellation.

  5. Participants are fully liable for all the damages caused by them during the sessions, both to the Organiser, other Participants and third persons; in the event of the accident or the appearance of any loss Participant will not hold the Organiser, its employees or contractors liable if they are not at fault.

  6. The program of the sessions published on www.swingconnect.be and on social media have a strictly informational character. The Organiser will take every effort to ensure that all the events happen according to the published program.

  7. All participants have a personal medical insurance. The sessions will not be held accountable for sustained injuries during classes or parties.

 

Admission

The Organiser, guest teachers and all dancers of the sessions have a right to be in a safe and non-threatening environment. I therefore expect appropriate behaviour from all participants. If a participant engages in harassing or unsafe behaviour, the Organiser and/or guest teachers will take any action they deem appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, issuing a warning, expelling the offender from the session and/or future sessions, refusing admission and/or contact with the offender.

The Organiser reserve the right to turn down registrations or refuse entry to any part of the sessions. Additionally, the Organiser reserve the right to expel an already registered person from the session. In case the expulsion occurs any time up until one day before the beginning of the event, the Organiser will refund the full price -20%. The refund, at any given time, does not include any other financial expenses already incurred by the participant prior to the session. In case the expulsion occurs during the sessions, the Organiser will pay no refund for the session.

 

Conditions of registration for the sessions
  1. The registration must be done via the registration form on the Swingconnect website.

  2. Within 7 days from sending the registration form Registrants will receive an email from the Organiser with either a confirmation of participation or information that they were placed on the waiting list. The payments shall be done within 72 hours from sending the confirmation email by the Organiser. If the Participant does not transfer the due amount his registration will be cancelled.

  3. People registering as a pair/couple have to fill in two separate registration forms indicating the name and surname of their dance partner. Couple registration will only be valid if both partners register within 72 hours and both pay within 72 hours after receiving the email with the payment details.

 

Prices and cancellation fees

You agree with all prices and cancellation fees.

If you decide not to come (due to personal or medical reasons), you must notify us as soon as possible.

These are the possible scenarios:

  • If the organiser cancels the workshop, you will receive a full refund of what you payed.

  • If you can’t attend, you may sell your spot to a friend/other couple. You need to contact the Organiser by e-mail and send the full name, phone number and mail of the person/couple who will take your place.

  • If you have a medical condition I need an official doctors’ notice. You get a 50% refund.

  • Unfortunately, due to the specific nature of the sessions, no refunds are possible for other personal reasons.​

 

Responsibility for injury

All participants attend the event at their own risk, and the organisers do not take any responsibility for participants’ injuries or health issues that might arise during the sessions.

 

Image usage agreement

By joining any session of Swingconnect you agree to your image fixed in any form (photos, recordings and others) be published and used. If you don’t agree to this, you must notify the Organiser.

 

Adjustment of the Program

The Organiser reserves the right to make alterations to the published event program (teachers, schedule and venues). I suggest that you regularly check your email in order to be aware of potential updates.

Preference for law and dispute resolution​​

All contracts and obligations of the Organiser are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute arising from this agreement can only be settled by the court of the district in which the Organiser has its registered office. This also applies to summary proceedings.
