Hi there!

I'm Charlotte (34), founder and teacher of the SwingConnect Focus Sessions.
One of my students once made me a name tag and described me like this: organizer, teacher, dancer, friend, woman, community builder, communicator. As you can tell, I'm a busy bee. But what I love most is bringing people together through dance.

My dance story

From the age of six, you found me in various dance classes: from ballet to streetdance, from jazz to other solo dance styles. At twenty, I stepped away from the dance world, unsure if I truly belonged there.

But one moment in 2017 changed everything. A Lindy Hop initiation and social dance gave me exactly what I had been looking for: incredible music, a welcoming community, and a dance style that combines partner connection, improvisation and expression.

My approach

With a background in education, I share my love for dance with anyone eager to learn. My classes and sessions blend technique, flow and connection with a healthy dose of humor, making every session both insightful and fun.

I continuously deepen my knowledge through masterclasses, dance festivals and educational trainings. While Lindy Hop is my main focus, I also explore Blues, Shag, Balboa and other dance styles.

Dance as a community

For me, dance is more than just movement, it's a way to bring people together, to feel at home, to create lasting friendships. I strengthen the local dance community in Leuven by organizing socials and parties for the Leuvense Hoppers. On Wednesdays I teach weekly classes for the biggest and oldest swing dance school in Belgium, Apollo Swing.

What dancing is to me

Have you ever felt that spark on the dance floor? A moment where music, connection, and your partner align — effortlessly, magically.
You dance without words: through breath, through rhythm, through a glance.
You give, you receive. You inspire, and are moved in return.
In those moments, dance becomes more than movement, it becomes meaning.

That feeling — is why I dance.
